David Cowan
Director of Student and Recreation Ministries
David Cowan is responsible for youth
ministry, college ministry and recreational ministries at St. Marks UMC. He leads Sunday night youth fellowship, Wednesday night bible study, recreational
activities and teaches Sunday school. While in college, David served in camping
ministry and was a local pastor, and he has served in youth ministry since 2017.
David is passionate about creating a safe
space where young people feel valued by their church family and can learn about
the inclusive and transformative love of Jesus.
At 14 years old, David felt called to
ministry while serving in different leadership roles in the youth ministry at
his home church. He received a bachelor’s degree in pre-seminary from Martin
Methodist College.
Outside of church, David enjoys reading,
television and sports, especially the Indianapolis Colts and the Nashville
Predators.
