Buddy Howell

Business Administrator

Buddy Howell is responsible for ensuring transactions having a financial impact on the church and preschool are accurately recorded and properly documented. The business administrator accounts for contributions and other cash receipts and makes sure all cash disbursements are properly authorized. Buddy also manages the annual budget development process and prepares numerous reports that provide complete transparency about church operations from a financial perspective.

Buddy is a graduate of Auburn University and started his professional career as a staff auditor for the accounting firm currently known as Deloitte. He attained his CPA license and gained valuable experience evaluating internal controls and testing the accounting systems of large and small corporations. Buddy left public accounting in 1981 to join Nissan during construction of its first U.S. automobile manufacturing plant in Smyrna. Over the next 35 years, Buddy played a key role in developing and managing a variety of accounting and administrative systems as new technologies became available to perform work more efficiently and effectively.

Buddy is married to Tammy, and they have three adult children who live in other states. Outside of work, Buddy enjoys handyman work and likes using his skills to help others.
